A giclee (zhee-clay) is an individually produced, high resolution, high fidelity, limited fine art reproduction created on a special, large format printer. The virtually continuous tone of this process gives the giclee a range or gamut, and control of color that exceeds far beyond that of a lithograph and other printing processes, giving each piece amazingly vibrant color with greater and crisper details. Although giclee are referred to as "modern day lithographs," they clearly reach beyond this artistic level, creating fine art reproductions that are coveted by collectors for their fidelity and quality. The name of Israel's national anthem is Hatikva, "The Hope," written in 1882 by Naphtali Herz Imber (1856-1909) and published in 1886. Hatikva was officially confirmed as the Zionist anthem at the 18th Zionist Congress in Prague in 1933. Hatikva was sung at the opening ceremony of the Declaration of the State of Israel on May 14, 1948. The Haftorah (Shabbath readings from the Prophets) read on the seven Sabbaths between the Fast of the 9th of the Jewish month of Av and Rosh HaShana (the Jewish New Year) are called The Sheva D'nechamta - The Seven of Consolation. These chapters contain Isaiahs prophecies offering hope and comfort after the destruction of the first Temple. Half of each of the seven sections speaks of affliction, while the other half is full of words of comfort. The seven readings inscribed three full times in this piece are: 1) Isaiah 40:1-27, 2) 49:14-51:3, 3) 54:11-55:5, 4) 51:12-52:12, 5) 54:1-10, 6) 60:1-22, 7) 61:10-63:9. *Isaiah 40:1-27 is repeated a fourth time.* Voiced in these verses is Isaiahs plea with his fellow Jews and the Jews of the future generations to remember from where we come: Abraham and Sarah. The star laden, dome capped sky, twinkles with the fulfilled promise to Abraham that his seed will be as the stars in the sky - too numerous to count!

Even at our happiest moments, we are invoked to remember Jerusalem and place the memory of the destruction above all. Thus, a rebuilt Jerusalem fills the wine goblet in the center of the piece. The text of the goblet includes the blessing of the miracle of Chanuka when the Temple was rededicated after the successful Maccabean revolt. The seven special blessings, recited for the Bride and Groom in celebration of their marriage, are also included here. One of the blessings is the blessing over wine - as wine is a symbol of joy and celebration. Dimensions: 21cm X 29.8cm | 8 1/4" X 11 3/4" Price: $39.95 (Shipping included)

Blessing Israel-Genesis 12: 2-3
She has drawn the "Sabra"-a cactus plant that is found everywhere in Israel. The Hebrew word "Sabra" refers to a native born Israeli. The plant is very coarse and prickly on the outside but once piercing the exterior skin, one finds a tasty and sweet fruit on the inside. This is symbolic of the difficult struggle and tragic history that represents the last two thousand years of Jewish history. It speaks of the miracle of the survival of the Jewish people throughout several millennium of dispersion to virtually every country and corner of the earth. But, like the "Sabra"…once the hard and prickly surface is pierced…what comes next is the sweetness of the return of the Jewish people to Israel and world redemption.
